Once again we visited the Cornucopia Farm (see the link on my blog) and once again we had an awesome time.

I can’t say enough about this family farm and if you didn’t get a chance to visit before now, it’s still not too late.  You can even go this weekend.  It’s just a fun place to take the family and spend a few hours.  It only cost $7 for adults and $5 for kids and you have so much to do.

You can let the kids ride the tricycles, slide down the big slide, try to get through the corn mazes, visit the petting zoo, try the new duck relay game and so much more!  It’s just a great place to take the kids and spend quality time with them, but not get caught up in all the commercialized pricing of the bigger farms!

The family is so nice and appreciative when you visit and they are always fun to talk to with the kids.  They have a working bee hive that is cool for the kids to watch too.

If you get a chance visit, there are directions on the website.   Good times!

OK, lets go over this again; although we’ve talked about it before due to circumstances in our lives.

We all have friends; some on higher levels and some not so high.  When do you know if you have found a truly great friend.  One you can trust, be with, and depend on?

Simple - the battle question.  Ask yourself this question:  Would you take this person into battle with you?  Think about what that means.  Would this person fight for you?  Have your back?  Would they leave you to die and run for their life instead?  Would they carry you out of the fire?  Would this person be someone you would want in battle with you.  If the answer is YES then you have a true friend; one you trust and one you can depend on.

If the answer is, “Well maybe or I’m not sure.”  You have a problem.  There are issues and you can either work on them or just realize this is not a true friend, maybe just an acquaintance.  No big deal, just know the difference and you will be fine.

I have always also advised people not to try and spread their friendships to wide.  In other words you cannot be a great friend to a lot of people as there isn’t enough time in the days to cover all of them and you can’t give yourself.  It’s best to have a small, tight circle of friends that you can rely on and trust.  This is basically human nature anyway.

Regardless, just ask the battle question and you will realize who are your true friends.

Women crack me up and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; we are the most severe to our own sex.  Why ?  I have no idea, maybe it’s just our chemical makeup and guys know they don’t do this to other guys and they sure can’t figure out why we do it to each other either.

I was in a room full or young women today and it cracked me up to watch them becoming women, young mothers and such, but what was more hysterical to me was watching them be snobby, bitchy and somewhat uppity to others.

I have experience in recognizing these skills as I have been this age and participated in this type of behavior myself and sadly whether women my age want to admit we’re not even sure why we do it.

I have a few favorite personalities and of course when you’re older you can watch these young women and some times they just don’t have what it takes to carry off the ultimate snob or bitch role, in the end they just look ridiculously immature.  You’d almost like to pull them aside and give them tips (hey I didn’t get my Empress title for nothing) but you can’t that breaks all the rules.

One of my favorite personalities is the woman that thinks to herself, “I know I have money and even though I’ve never met you; I’m certain you don’t have as much money as me, thus I will treat you as such.”  Again, now how cute is this when this is a younger woman who truly doesn’t know your situation and has the audacity to think this about you?  The comments of, “I buy this and I spend this, blah, blah, blah.”  She eventually will just realize no one cares (hopefully) except her circle of fans and life will bore her to death at an early onset.

My second, favorite personality is the, “I was a bitch in high school, rolled through college on  my bitch mobile and since no one has flattened my tires yet, I’ve just went with this personality.  Oh and along the way I actually got some drip to marry me and I treat him like crap too.  SO, I will also just treat all those not in my immediate circle with disrespect and rudeness as that has gotten me by thus far.  This young woman will fall on her ass sometime in the near future when a woman just kicks her butt for whatever reason and the defense of “bitch” just doesn’t cover her situation.  She is of no use to us older women!

My last favorite is the perfect mom!  We’ve all done this one and lets not pretend we haven’t.  “My child is behaving better than yours, my child hasn’t caused a scene, your child has done something questionable so I will sit over here in the corner of the room and talk about your child and how sad it is that you are a bad mother.”  Women are funny with their kids!  You never see another woman give parenting advice to another like, “You know, if you’d give little Jimmy less caffeine he might just stop running around here so much.”  Holy crap can you imagine what would happen?  Or, how about, “I’ve been watching you and Jimmy and if you wouldn’t baby him so much he just might play better with the other kids.”  Now that would be priceless wouldn’t it?  It would be a free-for-all at the event!

Regardless woman are just severe to other woman, but here is my advice; always just go after the woman in your age group.  If you are going to “take on” an older woman make sure you know this person and their personality.  Older women have life experiences and most of them are tired of all the bull crap from life in general.  We don’t have time for all the things we did in the younger years and probably won’t put up with it.  If you’re thinking it, we’ve already thought it.  If you’re going to do it, we’ve already done it, screwed it up and learned from it.

Just think before you act!

I gotta tell you, I know the true meaning of Easter, but we all get caught up in the preparations of getting ready for Easter and it’s exhausting isn’t it?

You have to find the outfits for Church and then you have to make sure they are cleaned, ironed and ready to go.  You have to dig out the baskets, get the Easter Bunny items ready and then you have to dye the eggs.

The morning of Easter (which I’m living), you have to get up, get all the people up and make sure we all get IN the clothes that we cleaned, pressed and ready to go.  Everyone needs to eat, have time to admire, play and talk about the basket and still make it to church on time.   This requires skill, preparation and a little faith in God that he will allow this to go smoothly!  ha ha.

Then we rush off to Church to have a great day and take some photos of the family after Church and then for us it’s putting on play clothes and spending the day with the family.  It’s just one, big, exhausting day!  I can see why some people just want to skip the entire event.  I wouldn’t dream of it, but I gotta tell you, it’s like you have to pack up on vitamins to get it going!

We’re almost ready and we’re heading in the direction of the church.  We looked pretty ironed and neat so we did pretty good this year.

I know that none of us know the details and I’m sure they will be coming more and more now that they have found this child’s remains, but I just can’t imagine taking the life of something so precious.

Can anyone explain this to me?  When this happens I truly know there is evil in the world.  It truly exist.  I feel for her family, despite whatever roles they might have played and I feel for the child for any suffering she may have incurred.

When I think of Noah at his age, so innocent, sweet and precious and to think someone could hurt him it makes me want to die inside.  It makes me want to go home and hold him for hours in my arms and just love him.  Again, there is evil in this world and everyone needs to pray to make it less every, single day.  This child deserved so much better, as do they all.

This story breaks my heart on so many levels.  I’m glad they found the remains so her story can be complete and her family can be at peace.

sick

Nothing worse than a sick kid, but staying home is almost worse isn’t it?  It’s like you have this day in front of you and you feel like because your home you should take advantage of the free 8 hours you have been given.

Noah was sick today and I also didn’t want him going to some appointments with my parents at the hospital, thus possibly picking up more germs so I stayed home to take care of him.  PS:  I may have a little of the stomach thing myself coming on, but that is typical isn’t it?  I love a child that shares!

However, when your a woman with a house and you’re given a free day at home you can’t just sit at home.  It’s like you think to yourself, “OK should I do laundry, clean the bathroom, bedrooms, kitchen, fold towels, etc.”  It’s not like you can just waste the day and for pity sake it’s the holiday season so you have extra stuff to do.  Plus you have a whiny child to tend with, but that can be handled right, after all we are SUPER MOMS right?

It’s funny, sick days used to be for us!  You would get sick, stay in bed, maybe go to the Doctor and rest.  Now most of them are used for taking care of the little ones and using that time to make up for lost time at your house.  It’s maddening and exhausting.

I think we should have “Girl Days”, no wait those are Vacation Days I know, I won’t even start on that subject, but it would be nice wouldn’t it?  Days just for us that we could do whatever we wanted, go where we wanted to go, have people cater to us?  Stop I must be getting a fever or something…………ha ha

I’m not sure why I rented this movie, more than likely because it starred Tom Hanks.  It isn’t really my type of movie.  Needless to say, it wasn’t after I watched it either.

That being said, it was still a good movie if this WAS your type of movie. Very educational and it gave you a lot of information.  Tom Hanks did a superb job as always and I really like Seymour Hoffman who played the CIA agent who assisted Tom’s character is helping defeat the Russians.  I have seen him in quite a few movies over the past few months and I like him more and more.

Julia Roberts did an OK job, her role from what I can tell after I researched her character was played out well and she did look like her to a certain degree.  She was quite beautiful in this movie, but she just didn’t catch my attention as she usually does.

If you like war history, this is a great movie to watch, I will give you that and the biggest thing out of it; as always the US was the last to react.  It took a civilian to get the job done - go figure!  Anyone else surprised by that one?

Again, if you like history, I recommend you rent this one, if not you can pass!

Tomorrow is the day to make your decision and no matter what you choose to do, just make a good choice and make sure you VOTE.

It’s more important that you vote, than who you vote for in an election!

Good luck and may your candidate win!

Jerry sent me these and I had to share:

Why Trick or Treating is better than Sex:

10.  You are guaranteed to get at least a little something in the sack.

9.  If you get tired, you can wait 10 minutes and go at it again.

8.  The uglier you look, the easier it is for you to get some.

7.  You don’t have to compliment the person who gives you some.

6.  It’s OK when the person you’re with fantisizes you’re someone else, because you are.

5.  Forty years from now you’ll still enjoy candy.

4.  If you don’t like what you get, you can always go next door.

3.  It doesn’t matter if the kids hear you moaning and groaning.

2.  Less guilt the morning after.

1.  You can do the whole neighborhood.
