I know that none of us know the details and I’m sure they will be coming more and more now that they have found this child’s remains, but I just can’t imagine taking the life of something so precious.
Can anyone explain this to me? When this happens I truly know there is evil in the world. It truly exist. I feel for her family, despite whatever roles they might have played and I feel for the child for any suffering she may have incurred.
When I think of Noah at his age, so innocent, sweet and precious and to think someone could hurt him it makes me want to die inside. It makes me want to go home and hold him for hours in my arms and just love him. Again, there is evil in this world and everyone needs to pray to make it less every, single day. This child deserved so much better, as do they all.
This story breaks my heart on so many levels. I’m glad they found the remains so her story can be complete and her family can be at peace.

Nothing worse than a sick kid, but staying home is almost worse isn’t it? It’s like you have this day in front of you and you feel like because your home you should take advantage of the free 8 hours you have been given.
Noah was sick today and I also didn’t want him going to some appointments with my parents at the hospital, thus possibly picking up more germs so I stayed home to take care of him. PS: I may have a little of the stomach thing myself coming on, but that is typical isn’t it? I love a child that shares!
However, when your a woman with a house and you’re given a free day at home you can’t just sit at home. It’s like you think to yourself, “OK should I do laundry, clean the bathroom, bedrooms, kitchen, fold towels, etc.” It’s not like you can just waste the day and for pity sake it’s the holiday season so you have extra stuff to do. Plus you have a whiny child to tend with, but that can be handled right, after all we are SUPER MOMS right?
It’s funny, sick days used to be for us! You would get sick, stay in bed, maybe go to the Doctor and rest. Now most of them are used for taking care of the little ones and using that time to make up for lost time at your house. It’s maddening and exhausting.
I think we should have “Girl Days”, no wait those are Vacation Days I know, I won’t even start on that subject, but it would be nice wouldn’t it? Days just for us that we could do whatever we wanted, go where we wanted to go, have people cater to us? Stop I must be getting a fever or something…………ha ha

I’m not sure why I rented this movie, more than likely because it starred Tom Hanks. It isn’t really my type of movie. Needless to say, it wasn’t after I watched it either.
That being said, it was still a good movie if this WAS your type of movie. Very educational and it gave you a lot of information. Tom Hanks did a superb job as always and I really like Seymour Hoffman who played the CIA agent who assisted Tom’s character is helping defeat the Russians. I have seen him in quite a few movies over the past few months and I like him more and more.
Julia Roberts did an OK job, her role from what I can tell after I researched her character was played out well and she did look like her to a certain degree. She was quite beautiful in this movie, but she just didn’t catch my attention as she usually does.
If you like war history, this is a great movie to watch, I will give you that and the biggest thing out of it; as always the US was the last to react. It took a civilian to get the job done - go figure! Anyone else surprised by that one?
Again, if you like history, I recommend you rent this one, if not you can pass!

Tomorrow is the day to make your decision and no matter what you choose to do, just make a good choice and make sure you VOTE.
It’s more important that you vote, than who you vote for in an election!
Good luck and may your candidate win!

Jerry sent me these and I had to share:
Why Trick or Treating is better than Sex:
10. You are guaranteed to get at least a little something in the sack.
9. If you get tired, you can wait 10 minutes and go at it again.
8. The uglier you look, the easier it is for you to get some.
7. You don’t have to compliment the person who gives you some.
6. It’s OK when the person you’re with fantisizes you’re someone else, because you are.
5. Forty years from now you’ll still enjoy candy.
4. If you don’t like what you get, you can always go next door.
3. It doesn’t matter if the kids hear you moaning and groaning.
2. Less guilt the morning after.
1. You can do the whole neighborhood.

I am not normally a person that votes, nope I don’t! Carrie, I know, don’t even start the lectures! You know my Ken Doll theory, so I just figure it will all work out and if I don’t vote, then I can crack on AND complain about whomever we place in the Oval Office,
That being said, this year is different for me. When McCain decided to add this woman as his running mate (sorry Carrie, I called her “that woman”) I had to step up and register. This year has actually made me pay attention and, dare I say it, oh I have to………pay attention to politics………OK Carrie that was painful!
What I still don’t like is the mud slinging that begins to happen in October. I’m not going to say who started it first, but she (oops) shouldn’t have started it. We don’t need ugliness at the end. I don’t think we need name calling on either side. Can’t we just keep it at the debate level and let the votes fall where they may? The name calling, the silly ads on TV, it only demeans the candidates and wastes our time. Craig Ferguson was discussing it last night on TV and made very valid points about how it’s senseless. We don’t need them to drop to the grade school level in the last month. Just stay focused but every October it’s known as Surprise October and all the gloves come off and we have to suffer through the crap.
That being said, election day is supposed to be huge so they say if you are going to vote, go early and they are actually having early voting days. I was given an early voting schedule at the parade on Saturday. I think you can look it up on the web.
Good luck to all and may your candidate do well, as long as it’s not McCain! ha ha

Yep, it’s true, the big J.C. was in our Harvest Homecoming Parade. Now for you doubters I have witnesses. Many saw him and some even waved to him. I can not believe I did not have my camera, although my father does have it on film. Although freaks that we are we discussed it may not show up on the film unless he WANTS us to see him!!! (yes we discussed this!)
It was right after about float 99 and we were looking down the street to see what was next. Low and behold a church float comes by with Jesus right up front, waving and smiling at the crowd. He had a very nice robe on and he seemed to be in good spirits for the day.
My cousin seemed to think his hair was awful, but I told her not to be hatin’ on the “Big Man’s hair. If you had been around that long, you might have a bad hair day once in a while too, that’s all I’m saying. The other people on the float didn’t seem to be in awe of the man, that kind of freaked us out, but we just went with it. They were singing church songs so that was nice.
I thought Dan Quayle in tennis shoes being in our parade a few years back was huge, but I don’t think we can top the big J.C. Nope I think we have peaked beyond a point of no return.
Another thing we noticed is that he was doing the “princess” like wave, but we guessed maybe he had observed this from above and decided to go with this type of wave.
Anyway, just wanted to state, share, maybe even brag to others from various counties, cities, areas that we had Jesus at our Parade. I don’t think we can be topped. Aaaahhh New Albany…………can’t get any better than this!

Everyone has them and refer to them as comfort foods. Some have many and some have just one!
I was driving home trying to decide what to eat for dinner and I was thinking about my true food indulgences.
I’m not a sweets person in general, but everyone once in a while I have to have chocolate cake with white icing! That is my favorite. What is your favorite comfort food? Is it expensive dining? Is it a basic candy bar from the store? Is it a crazy thing you’ve made up on your own? Here are some that I know my friends like:
- Raw Cookie Dough
- Pizza
- Chips and Salsa
- Chips and Dip
- Fudge
- Homemade Cobbler
- Banana Pudding
- Rice Pudding (you know who you are!)
What is your favorite indulgence when you want to have a pity party for one? We all know about my Taco Doritos and I also love my Chicken Nachos. I think the chocolate cake is my worst.
Do you admit to White Castle cravings? What is your most fattening restaurant craving? I think White Castle and Taco Bell HAVE to be the worst!
What is your food indulgences?

We had our first Book Club meeting at a local Coffee Shop in our town tonight and it was a really good night.
We will be reading “Main Street” by Sinclair Lewis. The atmosphere in a coffee shop is pretty electric isn’t it? People talking, studying, working on their laptops, talking on their cell phones, meeting at tables like us, but you have no idea what people are really discussing. It just appears to be important; I mean come on they are at a coffee shop and this is what trendy, smart people do. ha ha.
I’m not a coffee shop kind of gal, I have to be honest, nor am I a “smoothie” drinker, however I do enjoy the hustle/bustle atmosphere.
We had some good conversation and I can see that this group has great potential and I KNOW that none of them are shy so we shouldn’t have any issues discussing a book - likes and/or dislikes. We’ll probably get asked to leave the dang shop!
Anyway, I’m excited and I only see success with our club. Thanks to all who came out and for those that couldn’t make it; we look forward to seeing you next time!

If you’re reading this blog, and you’re one of my friends you will understand the need for this entry as I know we’ve had this conversation many times. In society there are rules of etiquette, unspoken rules that if you are a normal, decent person you just know how to follow them. You follow them because you were what we called, “raised right” by our parents. Unfortunately however, there are the ones that were not raised right and follow the “trash” rules of life. I loathe this way of life and I stay clear of it as best as I can. There are many classes of life as well, upper class, middle class, and lower class, but here is my point, just because you may be a little lean in the pockets does not give you the need to act like trash. Yes, I said it; you can be less fortunate and act with class. AND, sadly there are those that are just your common, every day people that are middle and upper class that act as if they are from the depths of Trashville, USA. What is that all about, can anyone tell me?
Who the heck raised these people to teach them to do the things they do? Do we really HAVE to go over these rules again? OK, I’m a good sport so I will help out again.
- Do not yell at your child in the middle of any store, bank, or restaurant at the top of your lungs and/or slap this child.
- Do not yell at anyone in your group in the same places. Can it not wait until you are in private? Seriously!
- Do not air your dirty laundry sitting at your desk cubicle to anyone that will listen. Even though someone IS listening to you, for the love of Pete so many more DON’T want to hear it.
- Do not make personal phone calls if you do not have an office and yell into the phone about personal things. Again, we don’t need to know these things about you.
- Do not discuss your finances and let people know your salary. This is so unprofessional, not to mention grounds for dismissal at so many companies.
- Full length mirrors, but I digress on this subject matter don’t I?
- Help yourself if you want others to help you. Until then, stop whining about how unfair life is in your world.
- Stop having kids when you obviously can’t take care of the ones you currently have.
- Do not write a check if you are not certain there is money in your account. If you do and it bounces; this is your fault, not the banks fault. End of story.
- Do not spend money you do not have, pay your bills first and foremost.
- Do not abuse customer service, store managers, and restaurant managers over petty issues to get attention and free items. Most of the time they know you are scamming them and everyone around is embarrassed for you.
- Stop the pattern with the wrong men/women in your relationships. Take care of yourself and have some pride.
Yes, these are harsh rules of life, but they should be unspoken rules. If you were sadly uneducated it’s never too late to start now. Read them, learn them and put them to memory.
