We dined at this restaurant Sunday for Jerry’s birthday.  He had wanted to try it.

I had been there a very long time ago, and my mom and sister just recently went with a group.  They raved about the food.

I have to say I was totally unimpressed with the food.  It was basic and blah.  My white fish platter was greasy and the onion rings were very cold.  Jerry got the fried chicken dinner and he said it was good, but nothing over the top.  Noah’s kid meal was very bland and his grilled cheese was barely melted.   Amanda said her hamburger was OK.

The view of course is spectacular, it offers a 20 mile panoramic view of the Ohio river and I think it would be a nice place to take a date, maybe a 2nd or 3rd date to create conversation.  The view alone does that for you.  Although keep in the food is not spectacular.

The service is a little rough as the waitresses are all a little older and they are sort of “in a hurry” shall we say to take your order and move you along.  They are rude, but very stern I guess.  It isn’t high priced so that was nice and I think in the spring it would be beautiful to sit outside on the deck.

It’s about an hour up the road by Corydon Indiana so if you have some time you might want to check out the view.  Again, no great expectations on the food in my book!

Jerry, Jacob and I tried this restaurant out on Friday night and it just rocked.  Yep, my quest for an awesome cheeseburger may just be over.

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was incredible.  Jacob got a Santa Fe Burger with peppers and cheese and Jerry ordered the Royal Robin Burger.  They waiter told him it was the house special.  It comes with an egg on it.  Jerry said it definitely had an interesting taste to it and he liked it.

We also ordered a cheese dip with hamburger and it was great.  I’m particular about my cheese dip and this passed the test.  They serve you unlimited french fries with your burgers and of course unlimited drinks.

The atmosphere is busy and sort of loud, but it’s fun.  They give you a free burger on your birthday if you sign up to their birthday club and they come out to the table and sing.  It’s just a really upbeat place.  Kids would enjoy it a lot.  I want to take Noah over and have him check it out.

We all left totally stuffed and the service was great too.  Our waitress worked hard to keep us happy and keep our food and drinks filled.  She did a great job.

They also offer chicken and fish sandwiches and some entrees as well like salads and pasta.

All and all this is just a great place to try if you haven’t had the opportunity yet.  I can’t wait to head back over and try something else.  They had a ton of appetizers that I want to try!
