Does anyone watch this show on Thursday nights (NBC) at 10:00 PM? I have started watching it on a regular basis and I have to tell you it’s a laugh out loud kind of show. Granted, I can’t imagine taking my personal problems on National TV, but then again you get a fantastic trip for two in the end so I guess it’s worth it.
Tom Papa is the host and he is hilarious. I didn’t know much about him as a comedian before this show, but he completely cracks me up. He is great with his humor not only with the couples, but with the other comedians too. They have had great refs on the show too; Donald Trump, Jerry Seinfeld, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alec Baldwin (he is always hilarious) and so many more. It’s just funny stuff.
One couple argued over keeping a motorcycle in the living room. Really? Another couple argued over the fact that she wouldn’t use the dining room table ever, except to just decoration. She would make it pretty with all the plates and whatnot, but they never actually ate off of it. This infuriated the husband; that was a funny show. Eva Longoria was one of the refs that night and told Jerry Seinfeld she voted for the spouse because she had a dining room that she never used as well. She said she meant to use it on Thanksgiving, but forgot!
It is just a funny show and if you haven’t had a chance to check it out, maybe try to catch it soon. I think Bette Midler is on this week as one of the refs and she is always funny.

So let’s say you drive by and read this; what happens?
Is there a hidden camera near by that pulls you over? Wouldn’t you have to pull everyone over that drove by? I mean who isn’t going to read this huge sign as they drive by right?
What do you think it was really supposed to say?
I wish I knew what state posted this sign because it totally cracks me up and I would love to know how people responded!
Good stuff!

I love this! What do you think they are keeping secure with the gate closed?
Is this like an imaginary farm or something? Please don’t let the gate open; the invisible cow might go through the gate. Don’t worry, he won’t walk around, he has a thing about going THROUGH the gate!
There is a definate path at the gate too so it appears that someone or somebody is actually using the gate and that makes it even more interesting to me. The path stops so you have to wonder if so many people have got to a certain point and just said, “Dang, this leads nowhere, stupid gate!” This just cracks me up!

HUGE? Maybe compared to this right? Why would you have this on your license plate anyway?
This just made me laugh!

How cool is this staircase? Want to walk up and then slide down? No problem! Have some items you don’t feel like carrying down the steps? No big deal just send them down the slide and you won’t have to worry about hurting your back. The kids would also have a blast with this too.
I just think this is a crazy, wild, fun idea and it would be neat to have this in your house. Talk about a conversation starter at parties too.
Wouldn’t be that much extra to build or the cost couldn’t be too much right? This should be a must have in all houses!

Just a few quotes for Mothers and Grandmother’s since we’re getting close to the holiday.
When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. ~Sophia Loren
The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh
God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers. ~Jewish Proverb
I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life. ~Abraham Lincoln
All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That’s his. ~Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest, 1895
You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother - Proverb
“Becoming a grandmother is wonderful. One moment you’re just a mother. The next you are all-wise and prehistoric. ” - Pam Brown
If nothing is going well, call your grandmother. - Italian Proverb
“Just about the time a woman thinks her work is done, she becomes a grandmother.” - Edward H. Dreschnack

Vanilla: “Vanilla lovers, you’ve been miscast for too long. While most people think of you as reserved, you’re actually more likely to consider yourselves as risk-takers compared to other flavors. When it comes to work, like your favorite ice cream, your job doesn’t require a lot of bells and whistles to keep you motivated. Your passion is enough to get you out of bed in the morning.”
Chocolate: “Contrary to popular belief, you are reserved and tend to go with the flow. You’d even go so far as to say you’re shy. But that’s not to say you’re mainstream … you’re inspired by Indie performers in rock, film and TV who push the envelope creatively.”
Strawberry: “You’re a dedicated worker bee - being recognized with a raise and promotion for a job well done is important to you, as is a healthy relationship with your boss. You mean business – but you’re also somewhat of a free spirit. When it comes to time off, you’d rather volunteer to help others than lie on a beach.”

If you haven’t had the chance to visit this amazing tourist attraction you should. It’s a great weekend get-away and it’s worth the drive. It’s nestled past the hills of Tennessee, right into the heart of Asheville, NC. The only word I can think of when you drive up to the house is breathtaking. I’ve been a few times with family and friends, but my advice is to go with someone special. I have always wanted to do a romantic weekend at the Biltmore (guess this will just be wishful thinking for me), but hey you people out there make some plans!
It’s an 8,000 acre estate that includes the home, a winery, stables, restaurant, full gardens and so much more to see. You can clearly spend and entire day; if not a two touring this amazing attraction. The history alone in the house just enraptures me and there are three types of tours; self guided, tour guide and audio with headphones. I have tried the self guided and the tour guide and I want to go back and do the audio to see what I have missed. The tour guide gave us history on the family and the estate and it was so interesting. I could have listened to her stories for hours. I was young back then and probably didn’t appreciate it as much as I should.
The gardens are beautiful and I close my eyes and imagine myself living back then and actually being privileged enough to own such a garden to myself. The entire estate screams “Pride and Prejudice” and the Jane Austin period and I find myself daydreaming of that lifetime. What must it be like to have lived back then and how I would love to know.
It’s just an enchanting place to tour if you are a history buff or a romantic at heart. It’s not a long road trip and the prices all-in-all are not that over the top. There are plenty of hotels to check out and if you are feeling travel worthy you are a hop, skip and a jump from Gatlinburg if you want to stay in TN for the remainder of your stay. It makes for a nice trip.
I love history and again, the house is amazing to tour. Just a shout out for something fun to do this summer if you want a change of pace; check it out at their website: http://www.biltmore.com/

Christian Academy’s Jr. middle school did a musical the other night of the old TV commercials - School House Rock. Remember those from Saturday morning? Conjunction Junction, Verb, That’s What’s Happening, Just a Bill, Zero my Hero and tons of others. It was so great to hear those songs again.
The young kids in the audience didn’t really know the songs at all, but the adults were singing along and just cracking up because it was like a trip down memory lane. The play was really cute and the kids did a really good job for just being in the middle school age group. For most of them it was the first time any of them had ever sang in public and ever sang solos.
Noah sat through the entire play and even at intermission we asked if he was ready to leave because we thought he might be restless and he wanted to stay for the entire show. He really got into the kids acting things out and singing up on the stage.
For me it was just like going back to being 12 again and watching cartoons on Saturday morning. “A noun is a person, place or thing……….” Sing it with me people!
