All over the world and many times over, children have tried to catch Santa leaving presents under their tree or placing goodies in their stockings. Some children even take it a sinister step further and decide they will catch the man in red; trap if if you will, to talk to him and/or take presents from his Big Red Bag.
Now, smart adults that believe in Christmas and in Santa Claus will tell you now, THIS IS A VERY NAUGHTY IDEA. What is the matter with you? There are many reasons why you should not try to trap Santa Claus and since Christmas is right around the corner, here are just a few:
10. Santa is full of magic tricks so be prepared if you plan a trap. Regular traps won’t work. You will need to purchase special equipment so I hope you have saved your money.
9. “He sees you when you’re sleeping; He knows when you’re awake.” OK, if he knows this, he just might know what you’re planning to do. What if he skips your house all together?
8. If you try to trap him you might just take the “Jolly” out of the Merry Man forever!
7. If you hurt him trying to trap him, he would have to go to the hospital and that would slow down his Christmas Eve trip. This would delay all the other kids of the World getting their gifts.
6. If Reindeers see you trapping Santa they might attack. Have you NOT heard the song, “Grandma got run over by a Reindeer?”
5. If you trap Santa, Mrs. Claus might be upset and I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t want to make Mrs. Claus angry.
4. If you take extra toys from the Big Red Bag, Santa will have to call the Elves and have them make more. They would have to work overtime on Christmas Eve - there goes the Budget for Christmas 2009
3. If things go bad during the trapping and Santa is out of commission, who takes over? The Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, Heat Miser? Would would Christmas be without the Big Man in charge?
2. Be prepared to get coal in your stocking if you try to trap Santa, that is a given!
1. You would be on the Naughty List for the rest of your life!

Wow! It’s like you’ve been hearing our conversations! LOL Jonah is re-thinking his trapping Santa idea. He certainly doesn’t want to be on the naughty list for the rest of his life!
That’s awesome.. what a great list of reasons NOT TO trap Santa! Whew… glad somebody could make him see reason.

Don’t worry, your house isn’t bugged, we come from a long line of “Santa trappers” but we have all changed our minds once we realized that we might get in big trouble! It’s best just to talk to him face-to-face and tell him what you want, be nice and not naughty and hope for the best!
