I had this entry listed and then after talking to a view people I marked it private. Then I changed my mind again. I’m not typing this as a Team Leader; I’m not making any statements against an employee. I’m not typing this as a co-worker either. I’m not trying to make statements about another co-worker. I’m typing this as a person; a person in the professional world that is angered by people that do things or say things that could possibly put others in jeopardy. Thus I put my entry back out here and it shall stay.
Recently we had the unfortunate incident of seeing someone become terminated from our company. It’s never a good thing and because they are your friend and co-worker, it’s just an unsettling event for all of those involved. That being said, what everyone must realize is that it’s a business decision and not a personal decision when this must happen in any company.
My entry today is not to discuss that in particular, but to discuss a much more unfortunate incident that occurred after the fact. After that incident someone that knows this person called in to our manager and made a very disturbing, somewhat threatening phone call to her. It was uncalled for and had nothing to do with this person in the scheme of things. To have this person threaten our manager over a co-worker getting fired is unacceptable behavior considering he also works in a professional environment as well.
This guy is an adult (well his age stipulates that he’s an adult) and he’s calling a place of business and threatening another person. What the hell is the matter with him? Does he seriously intend to carry out this threat? Seriously? Does he realize this is illegal and there will be consequences to his actions? Is it worth this to act as the “big bad protector” in this scenario? Did I miss something too? Did he join the Indianapolis Mafia and we missed the news bulletin? Does he have “people” that will help him carry out these threats or is this something he will just attempt to do on the weekend for fun? Has he thought about a plan? Will his actions reflect his juvenile mind and he’ll decide to go the route of what? Flat tires, keying of the car, egging the house, come on dude……….get a freaking life!
I’m amazed at the immaturity level that he would seriously call a professional place of business for one, then two, actually threaten a person and as I said………what is his next move? Anger just overtook his emotions? Dude, sign up for anger management or to see a psychologist because you really have some issues.
It was a business decision that had NOTHING to do with him and his actions just made him look like an ass. I’m sadden that we lost a co-worker and that it had to happen, but to think the incidents led to this kind of child-like acts just astounds me.
What makes a person act out in this manner? If he truly meant what he stated. He should be handled by law enforcement and treated as a criminal. Threatening someone is wrong and scary especially if your the person that is being threatened. If he really intends to hurt someone then why is he still at work, doing his job and being allowed to possibly threaten others? People like him should be handled harshly so they can learn to realize what he did was wrong.
Sorry to sound so harsh myself, but we have enough anger in the world against women, children and every time you turn on the TV you hear about shootings, stabbings, rapes and robberies. I think this freak needs to be told he can find a better way to spend his time. Calling an office and threatening a person over a business decision is totally unacceptable.
