This was a really good movie.  George Clooney did a great job and the ending was awesome. We all know I love movies with endings that have a twist or "get you" in the end.  It was a little slow in the middle and even a little predictable at times, but still, it was a good ending and worth watching.

George Clooney did a good, solid job and it wasn’t his usual "I’m just good looking" role as he usually plays.  He was an honest to goodness actor in this film.  Can’t say too much for any of the other actors…..not so good, but again, he carries the film and it’s good.

I would give it about a B- since he IS carrying alone, but if you want something to watch it’s worth renting.

I went to the Palace Theater last night to see Avenue Q.  It was basically Sesame Street for Adults.  I swear I felt embarrassed at some points during the play to actually see puppets having sex on stage.  It was a Broadway musical and it’s about a group of puppets, living on a street together just living lives that co-mingle with each other from different walks of life.  The topics cover a wide range from being gay, racism, marriage, relationships, unemployment, working, homelessness and just LIVING!

It was filled with humor, racy comments and yes, nudity with puppets but all in all it was funny and I laughed out loud several times.  I’m glad I got to see it and it did cover a lot of topics very open and honestly.  They do a good job of getting the topics out there to the audience.

It was a good play if you ever get a chance to see it.  Side note:  I love, love, love the Palace Theater.  It’s gorgeous and so romantic with all the Greek sculptures and the sky lit up with stars.  It has such great style and it’s just great being in the place in general.  I had forgotten how great the look of the place has.

This is ridiculous that a woman can just go “sleep around” with whomever she chooses, get pregnant by this man and she because she’s married the poor guy has no rights to the child.  What is the Supreme Court thinking?  Leave it to a bunch of idiots in KY to rule against a dad.  So because she’s a slut she gets a free pass?  I don’t think so….. that is so unfair to the paternal father of this child.  The child has a right to know about his real father.  What happens when he has a terminal illness and needs a transplant or medical history.  Do we call up the father then?  What an idiotic ruling.  This woman should be ashamed for EVER going to court over such a thing.  He was OK to sleep with, but not OK now that she’s done with him to allow him around her child.  What a slut.   Bet she didn’t feel that way when she was rolling around the sheets with him did she?

A man who fathers a child during an affair with a married woman has no legal rights to fatherhood, the Kentucky Supreme Court ruled yesterday in an important decision on the legal status of marriage.

In a 4-3 vote, a deeply divided court upheld the presumption that a child born to a married woman living with her husband is a child of the marriage.

“While the legal status of marriage in this early 21st century appears to be on life support, it is not dead,” Justice Bill Cunningham wrote in a concurring opinion in which he said that married couples have a right “to be left alone” from the claims of “interloper adulterers.”

The court ruled in favor of a Louisville couple, Julia and Jonathan Ricketts, who had sought to block James Rhoades Jr., from trying to establish paternity of a child he allegedly fathered during an affair with Julia.

Rhoades, of Tallahassee, Fla., who had said he hoped to raise the child jointly with his mother, said in a phone interview that he was “heartbroken” by the ruling.

“I want to be a part of my son’s life, and now he will never know who his father is,” said Rhoades, who hasn’t seen the child for year.

“I understand that his mother is married and that her husband is his stepfather,” Rhoades said. ““But I am his family too and it seems to me that the rights of the biological father should be as important as those of the biological mother.”

Julia and Jonathan Ricketts referred questions to their lawyer, Louis Waterman, who said his clients were “very, very relieved” by the ruling.

“As we have said from the beginning, our sole in interest was to protect the child,” Waterman said. “Family law is designed to do that, and I am grateful the Supreme Court did that today.”

I got flowers at work today and normally this would be a joyous occasion right?  Of course if you lead my life you can just imagine that it’s not.  A guy calls me and says, “I have a flower delivery for you and I don’t have a valid address for you, it just says Box 1000.”

I proceed to tell the guy it’s actually a different PO Box and it’s Suite 1000.  Now he calls back 2 minutes later and he tells me my flowers are in the lobby and I should come and get them.  I go to the lobby; no flowers.  There was however a UPS envelope laying next to the elevators!  I come back to my desk, look up his number on my caller ID and I get his voicemail. It says he’s from some company that has nothing to do with flowers.  I leave a message and I get no call back.  I call again and I get no call back.  I look up his number on the web and it shows this company that again has nothing to do with deliveries or flowers.  I start to get paranoid.

He finally, however calls back and says, “I have your delivery and it’s in the lobby.  Sorry I got lost.” He kind of just hung up though so I was a little scared.  I did venture into the lobby, but I took my BFF who was willing to “take the bullet” for me in the lobby and there were actually flowers there.” Kind of makes you wonder if you are being set up for something creepy.  Low and behold however I had a lovely arrangement of daisies to make my day.

Thanks to my BFF and a weird delivery guy I have daisies at my desk!  I don’t think it’s supposed to be that stressful!

baby boy We have a new addition to our family and I became a Great Aunt today.  We have the birth of a new nephew into our family.  His name is Logan Allen and he weighed in at 6 lbs. 5 oz. and he was 19 inches long.  What a cutie, just as handsome as his dad and had a smile as pretty as his mom’s!

He came into the world on April 23, 2008 without a bit of trouble and his lungs seemed to be in full working order.  He was about 4 weeks early but he and mommy are both doing fine.

My sister and her husband are Grandparents for the first time too so this is a major event for them too.  That is just a great feeling.  I’m still in awe of that feeling every day!

Congratulations to all!

Kevin Spacey rocks doesn’t he?  (Yes Jacob I agree with you for a change).  When a movie comes out and you see that Kevin Spacey is in it you think to yourself, "Well I have to see that, how could it be bad!".  This was no exception, however it wasn’t the greatest movie.  Kevin’s role was great, but he didn’t carry the entire movie.

It was based on a true story, but I’m not sure how much of it was true.  I need to read the information, but all in all it was a good storyline.  The very end was a little "hokey" as to how he got the teacher to return to Vegas, but OK it’s the movies so I’ll go with it.

It held my attention and Jacob and I both liked it so that in itself is a miracle.  We can add it to our small list of movies we both like!  We now have 21, Prime, and what else Jacob?? ha ha.

Anyway this is completely a B+ movie and I would recommend it to people.

This is one of those movies that I found watching previews off of another movie.  The thing is; I really liked this movie.  It had humor, satire and the characters were pretty real, but it was like the writer got toward the end, ran out of money for the film so he decided to wrap up the movie with one last scene and left you to figure out what happens to all the characters.  That sucks.

The main character is played by Jeff Garlin and he has a sort of lack-luster personality, but yet you are drawn to him and pull for him to succeed in the movie.  Bonnie Hunt is the love interest and she is always funny and quirky.  Can’t go wrong with her.  The ratings from the viewers was a B- and I would have to say maybe but I was leaning towards a C.

Do you agree with this list?  It was a VH1 list and I agree with some of them but not all.  I can’t lie I have always like the “Barbie Girl” song, but I’m a Barbie fan from way back so it just cracks me up.  I can’t be hatin’ on Chicago music either.  It’s kind of harsh that they are listed in the Top 20.  Why?  And, the “I’m Too Sexy” song also cracks me up.  Just can’t put it in the Top 20 either.  What are you Top 20
